Sense Toothpaste

Dear Dr. Ellie:

Boy am I glad I found your site! I’ve learned a lot by reading through the blog about oral care. I’m blown away by your information and am excited to try your system. Already went to zelliescleanwhiteteeth.com and ordered products. I know you only recommend the Crest regular past, but I wanted to get your opinion on the toothpaste I have been using. Have you heard of or tried Sensé Natural Whitening toothpaste? Here’s the list of ingredients:

Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) neutralize acids harmful to the teeth and gums. Alongside Hydrated Silica, they also act as abrasives to help scrub teeth clean.

Xylitol, Natural Flavor, Stevia and Sea Salt provide provide natural sweetening and flavor to the toothpaste.

Vegetable Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate and Carageenan (Seaweed Extract) provide texture and stability to the toothpaste.

Titanium Dioxide is a natural mineral compound that provides color.

Sodium Benzoate is a preservative that helps keep the toothpaste free of harmful bacteria.

Poly C, Vitamin E and Green Tea Extract are antioxidants that may help support healthy gums. Green Tea Extract also reduces the adhesion of plaque and bacteria to teeth and gums.

Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate assists in reducing the accumulation of tartar on the teeth.

Thank you so much for sharing your information. Please keep up your work.

Hi JB,

Thanks for your message. I am very familiar with Sense products and I love many of their skin care items and their associated Young Living products.

However – my system will not work with this toothpaste.

If you have great teeth – this toothpaste may work for you, but if you have sensitive teeth, gum recession or cavities – then change and use the toothpaste and regimen that I recommend!!

My issues with this paste would be the inclusion of sodium bicarbonate ( which I do not recommend for women) and glycerin ( which I believe can prevent remineralization of teeth)

I know it is exciting to see some “great sounding” ingredients, but in my system of oral care – I have only found one toothpaste that will work.

You decide – and remember that if you have great oral health – the last thing I want to do is change you from the products you are using.

On the other hand, if you are fighting any kind of oral health problem – then I suggest you give my “system” a try!

Hope this helps.
