Australia and Healthy Teeth

Dear Dr. Ellie:

Hi. I am from Australia. I have just read your book Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye, and have gone shopping to try to get all the products, as I prefer to buy direct rather than over the net. The only product we dont seem to have is the closys mouth rinse, I was wondering if anything can be used instead. Also a question about listerine, does this product kill off the good bacteria in the mouth, and my 12 yr old has fissure sealants, is there a way to get rid of them or should we just let them wear off. Thank you very much, we are starting to use your system here in Australia will let you know how it progresses thank you again.

Hi K,

My sources tell me that Closys is available in Australia.

In the UK this product is called Retardex – but I think in Australia it is remains with the name Closys.

The company is Rowpar Pharmaceutical – and you may want to contact them.

http://www.rowpar.com

In the US it is only available in Walgreens stores and through dental distribution centers.

Keep looking – this is one amazing product!!!!

The use of Listerine as part of my system is another key component.

If you read my blog you will see many answers to many questions – even about Listerine studies ( from Australia) that cast a shadow over Listerine for a short time!

I explain that if you start switching out products this will not work.

This is like a cake recipe – and you have to follow directions if you want the end results.

BPA is a concern – in sealants, fillings and possibly in the plastics of retainers, bite plates and dentures.

I suggest you avoid all these whenever possible – but realize that sometimes there are no options.

Once the sealant has been placed – you have done the work – taking it out may be a worse solution.

My suggestion is to ensure that you avoid as many other toxins as possible for your son at this time.

He is young and healthy and the body is a great self-healer when given the opportunity to do so.

He should probably avoid soy products and nitrates (processed meats) as much as possible – to ensure he does not get more toxic estrogen loading for a while.

Hope this helps,

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Best Wishes,

Ellie
