Help Please!

Hi, Dr. Ellie,

I was doing research on enamel loss and came across your materials. I was looking for information (but could not find it) on how much enamel loss, if any, is normal. I am 42 years old, had braces as a high school student and brush twice a day and floss (I used to brush more frequently). It seems that I have enamel loss (about 1/2 to 1/3 of the top protion of the tooth appears transparent as opposed to the lower portion). My teeth look nice when I smile. However, the interior of my mouth does not look so good, and a recent dental visit indicated that I have three teeth with cracks at the top surface of the tooth and a back tooth that appears to be decaying, and I was told need to be crowned (this tooth held the ortho bracket and often loosened during treatment). I am stunned by all the dental work needed because I eat healthy and take care of my teeth, and my dentist did not respond to my inquiry. Is enamel loss normal? how much is normal? and what can I do to protect the longevity of my teeth? Wile your complete mouth care system help? I have used listerine for a number of years before bed but noticed that my mouth in the am was filled with white strands, so now, I use the listerine after brushing in the am instead. My dentist did not have an answer for that either. I am concerned about the longevity of my teeth and would really appreciate if you could refer me to a good dentist in NYC. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi D,

I believe that you are suffering from mouth acidity and dry mouth.

These two problems are the reason that teeth erode and that you have enamel problems, disease and cavities.

Bleaching, peroxide and baking soda always make things worse – so be careful!!

Xylitol will be a huge help to you – so also will my system of mouth rinses.

Listerine is very, very acidic and should ONLY be used as part of my system. Here is a link to the system if you need to look at the details. http://www.drellie.com/pdfs/The-Kissing-System/Complete-Mouth-Care-System-Cliff-Notes-Version.pdf

I recommend that people start by purchasing a kit – and then use the products EXACTLY as recommended. This is a like a cake recipe – you MUST use the system with the METHOD described and with the products I recommend – or it will not work.

Your answers as to why this is happening etc is all described in my book Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye.
You will be amazed to understand that your problems are explained in detail in this book. It is very sad that people do not know more about mouth acidity and how dangerous it is to oral health.

Using Listerine is like putting a skin toner onto dry skin. Toner may have a cleansing use – but without being followed by a moisturizer – skin toner used alone would dry your skin and cause even more problems!! YOU MUST try my system as soon as possible!!

I am worried that without this system you will begin a lifetime of root canals, crowns, veneers and ongoing periodontal therapies. Given a little time – my system will save you from all that – and rebuild your teeth back to a state of health.

I hope you will give this a try. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

For a dentist referral – I would suggest an AAOSH dentist – here is a link:

Hope this helps,
Ellie
