Mouth Care

Dear Dr. Ellie:

The other day I had some steak and I must have gotten a rough piece and it either cut or scraped the gum near back of my mouth and it is somewhat sore but not unbearable just annoying. What can I do to help the wound recover faster.

Please help I just need this to go away soon.

Dear JL:

Do you use my mouth care system?

If not – the two most useful parts of this system for gum healing is Closys rinse (2 or 3 times a day) – and also the use of xylitol regularly through the day.

Granular xylitol can be purchased from any health food store – put a teaspoon into water and sip during the day.

Closys ( do not add any flavor) is available in any Walgreens store.

Fresh pineapple incorporated into a good diet – with probiotics and minerals – will also help and potentially speed skin healing.

Hope this helps
