Dear Dr. Ellie,
I have been on your system now for a couple of months and wow! I can really tell a difference. I am very excited about your program!
I have a couple of questions I am hoping you can answer.
1. I was in to the dentist just before I started your program and he told me my old crowns are starting to get “sticky” and they would need replacing. Does your system do anything with helping the stickiness or are they going to need replacing?
2. About 2 days before I went to the dentist, under this same “sticky crown” tooth I began to feel a little sensitivity. It was almost as if I wasn’t sure if it was sensitivity or not, but two months down the road, I know it was getting sensitive. At one point on one or two days, I felt a strong sensitivity, like a shooting pain, but it went away shortly and has not come back. The question is, will your system help with healing this?
3. I bought some generic listerine (haven’t used it yet) because the ingredients are sooooo close. Active ingredients are exactly the same (same percentages…for example Eucalyptol 0.092%)….here is a list of the inactive ingredients water, alcohol 21.6%, sorbitol solution, poloxamer 407, benzoic acid, flavoring, sodium saccharin, sodium citrate, citric acid, D&C yellow no. 10, FD&C green no. 3. Do you think that this is close enough to real listerine? It is much more economical.
Thank you!
L
Hi L,
Thanks for your message sorry it has taken a while to reply.
Yes, my system used with mouth rinses and plenty of xylitol can reverse ‘stickiness” and make it hard again.
You need to do the rinse routine morning and night following the routine exactly no water rinsing between the rinses.
If you drink during the night make sure it is only water with xylitol dissolved in the water.
Alkaline water like Evian or Fiji would be my recommendation for night time drinks. In view of the fact that you are walking a close line between decay killing your tooth (this is the sensitivity you feel) vs. total recovery you are “on the center point” of a teeter-totter! I would not select this moment to try a “non-brand” Listerine. What is the savings? $1? You may want to use this to clean your toothbrush!!
I would use the ingredients in my recipe EXACTLY as recommended providing you can access them at local stores.
Only when this is impossible would I suggest trying other things that may or may not work.
I cannot tell you, I can never tell you, every selection is different. It is like experimenting with a cake recipe sometimes it works and sometimes it does not!! You want to protect your teeth after every meal, snack and drink during the day with Zellies mints or gum.
You should add to your daily xylitol exposure by getting granular xylitol and dissolving in water to also sip during the day.
This will up the frequency of xylitol exposures and the more times a day your teeth meet with xylitol the stronger and healthier they will be.
I would expect the next time you return to the dentist for him to be very impressed. If you are doing this correctly you should be impressed immediately with how clean and good your teeth feel.
If this is not the sensation something is wrong ingredients or method. Often it is the wrong toothpaste only Crest Cavity Protection seems to work for us!
Make sure to clean your toothbrushes and if possible get family on this program so they don’t re-infect you!!
Here is a link to the rinse routine on the website if you look there is a downloadable PDF of the booklet for you to print:
