Hello Dr. Ellie:
I just wanted to give you an update from my dentist appt. this am. I think I have been using your products about 5 to 6 weeks. To be honest, I have been doing it all exactly as you say except for the xylitol gum/mints I was good for about 2 weeks then never re-ordered. I need to do better with that.
But the good news is no bleeding and for the most part across the boards improvement with my gum reading numbers I only have two five readings they are kind of the hard to reach spot upperback molars. So I don’t have to go back for 6 months. I didn’t share what I have been doing yet.
Question I have a couple large silver fillings that he said at some point will most likely need to be replaced with a crown or if they break badly possibly a implant. Can your system maybe keep my fillings/teeth healthy so they won’t need the crown/implant? Maybe I am hoping for miracles?
Thanks so much for your system and help. I have turned my brother onto it too as they were suggesting gum surgery!
Best
G
Dear G:
You need Zellies as part of your program at least five exposures each day and preferably after meals and drinks!! Otherwise the acidity and sugars from any foods and drinks “un-does” the good that the rinses are doing!
It is all a question of balance.
Good things for teeth ( like xylitol and the rinse routine) on one side of the scale vs acidity/sugars/dry mouth on the other side of the scale!
YOU have to tip the scale to the good side with lots of xylitol exposures and do these rinses twice a day.
It is good that you had a good appointment but this is not what we are looking for.
We need excellence and oral health is deeply connected to body health so it will be well worth the effort!Do six months Zellies and they will say “WOW….what are you DOING??”
Good luck and do please, please get going on the xylitol! Gum, mints even granular xylitol off a spoon. Your teeth don’t care they just need some frequent exposure to xylitol/Zellies! Oh and to answer your question about the big fillings you must strengthen the remaining enamel and this system will do that as much as is possible.
I cannot tell you for sure that you will avoid a crown on a heavily filled tooth but this is the best way I know to avoid more fillings!
Thanks for the update,
Best wishes,
Ellie

I know you receive these reports all the time but I felt the need to add my report to the treasure chest. Started religiously using Dr. Ellie's system on July 30, 2010. Had a dental cleaning on August 26, 2010. The hygienist commented that I had no gum bleeding during the cleaning for the first time in years. Then when dentist came into room and began measuring the "pockets" along my gum line (which were only in 2s & 3s in previous cleaning) – he called all of them off in the 2s. The hygienst commented that I had some 3s last time so he went back and checked those particular teeth. He said, "No, these measure as 2s." They had a conversation about the fact that there was no way the pockets could have closed up so they "must have made a error in reading them in the previous visit". The dentist gave me a good report and told me to keep on doing whatever I'm doing. I just smiled and nodded and mentally said, "Thank you, Dr. Ellie."
