I would like to order both the mints and gum for my 2.5 yo DD but first, can you tell me from what countries the xylitol is imported and how it is derived (i.e., corn, birch or other source)?

For a two year old child, you will probably be able to use granular xylitol most easily. Zellies granular xylitol is from domestic US birch trees. I suggest you dip strawberries or other fruits into this granular xylitol as a good dessert at the end of a meal! Another way, is to dissolve a small amount (a quarter teaspoon
approximately) in water and sip it two or three times a day.
The key is to have five exposures to xylitol each day. Frequency appears to be more important than volume of xylitol. You can even brush a child’s teeth with a solution of xylitol in water. Spiffies are tooth wipes made with xylitol and are another option. They are available from the Internet.
The last suggestion would be Zellies fruit mints.
They are delicious and make a great snack between meals helping you reach five exposures a day.
