Dr. Phillips,
I feel like a broken record to so many of your blog readers…never had a cavity in my life (almost 27 years), now, all of a sudden, I have 4 (2 sets of 2 in between teeth). I found out today that he knew about 2 last year, but took it upon himself to “wait and see” and opted not to tell me. It’s my opinion that he had no right to do that, but that’s another story.
When I asked what to do at this point, he said that nothing could be done. Within 4 hours, I had found your blog post and was at Walgreens picking up everything. Since you mentioned in your blog that cavities won’t heal if they are in between teeth, I guess I’m stuck with these 4 for the next 50+
years.
When I asked what could be done to prevent them from forming in between my teeth in the future, again he said nothing. He actually said that its just a part of life and that’s why we have dentists. Is the Complete Mouth Care System enough to prevent/reduce cavities from forming in between teeth? If the bacteria causes the cavities and the rinse kills the bacteria, it would seem to be enough. Is there anything additional I can do for the in between the teeth spots?
When I pressed harder about the two lesser damaged teeth (still in the enamel), he caved and wrote me a prescription for a fluoride toothpaste. Is this an acceptable substitute for the Crest you mention? Since it says on the box to not eat or rinse for 30 minutes afterwords, is the system still maximally beneficial if I rinse with Listerine and ACT 30 minutes after brushing?
How do I find a dentist in my area that is willing to be proactive? Are there any associations to look for? Anything to look for and make sure I don’t see? I thought about just asking, but then realized that would be about as productive as asking a child if they stole a cookie from the cookie jar. I don’t know of anyone who is overly impressed with their dentist.
On behalf of all of us where “just ‘cuz” is not an acceptable answer in our house, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be proactive.

Hi X,
I am delighted that you found my blog and have begun to heal these potential cavities. Our new website http://www.ZelliesCleanWhiteTeeth will be up in a day or two, and we have lots of information there!
I will be adding some diagrams soon to explain when teeth will repair and when they will not but I think you must not be discouraged it sounds as if yours may heal themselves. “Between” teeth often does not mean what you think it does our diagrams will help explain this.
It is important that you get 100 percent xylitol mints, gum or granular and sip, swish, eat or chew about 6 grams at least five times a day. It is the combination of xylitol with the rinses that has the potential to
reverse cavities.
If you do not have hot or cold sensitivity or any trouble from these teeth I think you have a very good chance to reverse what was picked up on X ray. Please understand I am in no position to diagnose from a computer it is just a very familiar problem.
I hope you have looked into WHY these cavities developed. The answer will always be something acidic often combined with dry mouth. Do you drink something before bed? Do you have a dry mouth medications,
stress, allergies?I suggest you read my book Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye.
I suggest you consider the choice between what I suggest and what your prescription was for. I love Crest Original.Personally I have never seen prescription gels work plus there is research to show that rinsing with ACT can be more effective for repair and remineralizing teeth….Remember that I am not able to get between you and the information you have been given by your dentist.
Maybe you could use it after lunch?
Let me know if I can help more you can do a lot to reverse cavities in six months!
Best Wishes,
Ellie
