Dr. Ellie offering in-person consultations soon?

Dear Dr. Ellie:

I wanted to make a request. Can I please come see you for an evaluation. I have a dentist, but, she does not follow or believe your protocol. I’m not looking to have you as my dentist, but looking for an assessment of my teeth through your eyes and experience. I’m just looking for a 1/2 hour of your time, low key, and informal.

Hi J,

I have had so many requests like yours so you convince me that I need to offer some kind of consultation service. I am working to find an office space and I will let you know as soon as plans are final in the early part of next year. I may offer some kind of Skype conferencing to save travel time. My intention will not be to become a “full service” dentist but someone who can help you in a low key and informal way as you request. Stay tuned!

  • John says:

Wait, I thought you were a practicing dentist already. Please explain.

  • Dr. Ellie says:

I had a practice for many years, but haven't had an office for a while now — I write, speak and own two other businesses currently, a restaurant in Rochester, NY (Phillips European) and Zellies (www.zellies.com). I have written a bunch about why I am no longer a "traditional" dentist… I believe that teeth can heal themselves and that dentists should be in the business of preventing damage – not patching it up for a paycheck…not a popular idea in most dentist offices! Thanks for the question!

  • John says:

I assumed you were practicing as a "minimally invasive dentist". Quite surprised you aren't.
