I think many people have heard my recommendation to move your toothbrush away from the toilet area of a bathroom! Here is a link to some research done at the State University Of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine that has identified a tongue bacteria that may indeed originate from this source:

I know simple steps can change oral health.How many people have suffered pain and expense from periodontal treatment, yet no one told them to clean their toothbrush?I find this gap in dental education unacceptable. I believe too much emphasis has been placed on flossing and dental visits – with insufficient emphasis on assessing patient risk factors and simple home methods to control dental disease.
