Dear Dr. Ellie:
Why don’t you make xylitol toothpaste, instead of just mints and gum? Is there a good one to use in addition to mints and gum please!
Dear Friend:
At the present time I have not bee able to find a well-made toothpaste containing xylitol. The majority of xylitol pastes I have tried are too abrasive (think sandpaper!) That is not helpful for teeth.
I continue to look – but personally recommend Crest Regular Paste: the Original formula made in the 1950s. This is an excellent toothpaste – made with good sodium fluoride in a fine base of silica – (you want to try and avoid chalk). The harmonious combination of good fluoride with xylitol (a few Zellies mints and gum after meals and snacks) is particularly healing for teeth.
Thanks for your question – it is a good one!
Ellie
