Baking Soda Recession Repair

Hi Dr. Ellie,

I recently read a few of your blogs on baking soda causing recession. Lately I’ve started using baking soda, thinking it would help whiten my teeth. My gums (which I’ve always had some problems with, but which recently have been doing quite well) began receding quickly, and I didn’t realize until now that it might be the baking soda! My roots are currently exposed on many of my teeth, both upper and lower. Will this heal itself when I stop using baking soda? Will they grow back? Is there anything I can do to help them heal? Now I’m only using SLS free, fluoride-free toothpaste.

Thanks,
L

Hi L,

I would suggest you read about xylitol and use my Complete Mouth Care System.

If you start quickly, and use the system as described, I think your gums will feel better and I would expect them to slowly improve. Complete healing may take a year or possibly longer it depends on your general health etc. (Make sure you take enough vitamins and eat well also.)

For oral care products, don’t try lots of different things you haven’t got time to waste.
If you want your gums to heal you should use the system EXACTLY as it is described using the exact products.

I do not have time to explain why in this post I have written a book that will explain this Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye to be published later this year!

Use the system for a couple of weeks and see what you think. If you have any questions feel free to send me a direct Email, Hope this helps glad you found our site but please hurry, you have no time to waste!
