Too much of a good thing???

Dear Dr. Ellie:

Hi, I just started your system about 3 weeks ago and my mouth does feels great. I am afraid that my teeth are in great danger because I found several small cavities (using a dental mirror), also the grooves on the back of my six upper center teeth are brown.

I am wondering a few things: is it helpful (or too much of a good thing) to use the ACT for a longer period of time, say 5 to 10 minutes? I am able, most days, to do the complete system 3x a day.

Where does one get litmus paper? I noticed a new, very small pit tonight, after 3 weeks on the system. I was hoping that I was making progress, not losing ground…I have no sensitivity in my teeth at this time…should I wait it out or run to the dentist (who,I am afraid, will want to drill-and-fill)?

One interesting, and welcome, benefit is that my tonsil stones are all but gone! Thank you so much for your time.

Hi C:
I am gong to try and allay your fears one at a time!

There is no way that this system will allow your teeth to deteriorate. Stains are not the same as cavities and stains may occur as your bacteria die out. Read about dead plaque on this link:

Imagine you have a car and at night before you park it in the garage you spray it with an assortment of liquids. These liquids slowly get rid of any dings and dents in your car. This is what this system is doing for your teeth.

The process takes time and I cannot tell what kind of situation you started with. If you already had bacteria in these grooves they may need to die off first before any healing can occur. If you continue for about six months you may even the grooves filling in it depends on the shape of them.

Darkness or staining is not the same as cavities. The stain may be a sign that caries is going away and that the damaged area is “scabbing over” a first stage in natural healing.

The longer ACT is swishing over your teeth the more healing. You will not get complete healing, however, unless you ensure that you are also consuming at least 6.5 grams of xylitol each day preferably spaced out three or more times each day and particularly useful when eaten at the end of meals, snacks and drinks.

We sell it on the Zellies site and you may find it in health food stores.

There is no way at all for you to “lose ground”.

You are obviously nervous but the biochemistry of natural healing is that it takes time.
Read about staining (above) and be prepared to wait at least a couple of months before assessing your situation

I do not know the current state of your teeth, so it would not be correct for me to advise you not to go to a dentist! So, I refuse to answer this last question although if it were me I would give nature time to work.
