Xylitol Spray and Vitamins

Good Morning Dr. Ellie!

I would first like to thank you for the toothbrush and ACT coupon you included with my order of gum and Xylitol packets! I have high hopes that your program will work for me. I do have a couple of questions if you have time to answer. I am interested in making a spray from the pure Xylitol in the packet. I believe I read an email you answered where you told someone to use warm water so the Xylitol would dissolve. How much water should I use? Also, do you know of a good adult chewable multivitamin that is 100% Xylitol sweetened?

Any information you could provide would be very helpful.

Thank you for your time!
T.C.

Dear TC,

Two ounces of warm water should be enough to dissolve 4 grams of xylitol granules into a solution.

Let me know how it works for you.

I do not know any multivitamin made with xylitol in fact many chewable multivitamins are made with an oligosaccharide product this is a sugarless sweetener but it can cause tooth decay since it feeds the wrong kind of bacteria in the mouth. Sadly many children’s chewable vitamins are made with this compound.

  • I agree, sadly most children's multi's are made with sugar and/or artificial colors and flavors. Although I don't know of an adult multi, the Usanimals by Usana is a children's chewable sweetened with xylitol and stevia.http://shop.usana.com/shop/cart/ProductDetails?ProductID=105.010102
