I’m a 20 year old male with significant tooth decalcification from wearing braces and not having good oral hygiene while I was wearing them (about six years ago). It’s very prominent on my top row, front six teeth. It may also be due in part to the fact that I am atheletic I run triathlon for my university.
I am wondering if you have had any experience in restoring this sort of damage. My dentist could only offer whitening to bring up the surrounding tooth color to match (which would be difficult, as the decalcification is very white) or to grind down the front and implant veneers (expensive and I’m not interested at this age). Do you think xylitol chews and fluoride rinses in the morning and at night would have any affect, alone or with your system?

Thanks for you letter it is a sad story that I have seen so many times.
The veneer option will always be there to consider as a last resort but I would definitely give the Complete Mouth Care System a two year trial. I obviously have not seen your teeth but my system can do a pretty amazing job whitening and remineralizing teeth when used regularly and correctly.

The first six months you may not see too much happening. Color changes seem to begin after six months and then they continue for at least two years. Tooth improvements and remineralization occur and will strengthen and make your teeth healthier and this will be good if you need veneers in the end for appearance sake. I personally would be worried about bleaching since more demineralization usually goes hand in hand with the bleaching.

Then use it morning and night (always night) every day if possible.
Xylitol must be eaten regularly to protect your teeth from the acidic sports drinks you consume.
You need to eat at least 6-8 pieces of gum or my mints every day to protect your teeth.

Dr. Ellie: My son just got out of braces and the dentist wants to put on three veneers because of decalcifications on the front teeth on top. He showed me the white streaking near the gum line.
