The CWT System Explained

Dear Dr. Ellie,

Thanks for the info you sent. I just wanted to run my (CWT) routine by you since there wasn’t time to examine the details at the presentation.

What I was doing before the presentation:
Floss
Rinse with water
Closys II (30 sec.)
Rinse with water
BrushR
inse with water
Listerine rinse (30 sec.)
Rinse with water
Act rinse (30 sec.)
Rinse with water

Now what I do after hearing the (CWT) presentation:
Floss
Rinse with water
Closys II (30 sec.)
Brush
Rinse with water
Listerine rinse (30 sec.)
Rinse with water
Act rinse (30 sec.)
Spit

As you can see, I stopped rinsing after the Closys so my mouth istotally neutral before I brush and stopped rinsing after the Act so the fluoride would stay on my teeth longer. Can you suggest any improvements to my routine or am I doing it perfectly??

Thanks,
A

Hi A,

I don’t trust water as much as you do!

Honestly, there would be no real reason to rinse all these times and really no logic to rinse before using the Closys. If you are going to floss it may work better for you AFTER the Closys rinse since Closys loosens up the debris and bacteria. I would start by Closys  floss Brush ( now you could rinse with water if you like to) Listerine (but after the listerine you should NOT rinse with water It is important to DIRECTLY USE THE ACT we want the interaction between the rinses) ACT (now you should NOT rinse with water because it will rinse the ACT OFF YOUR TEETH JUST SPIT OUT). If you need to, I you can spit out a couple of times especially if you want to remove the taste. It will be much more effective if you do not rinse it off your teeth. When left on your teeth the fluoride in ACT can go on strengthening them for many hours while you are asleep. Remember, Fluoride only works when it is in DIRECT CONTACT with your tooth. The longer the stronger!

Hope this helps it sure helps me to have these questions because I never thought of rinsing in between! Let me know if you would like to talk on the phone and I would be delighted to set up a time.

Good luck and keep in touch,
Ellie
